The Feeding Eyak Lake Close to Cordova stretch of Power Creek in Alaska is 1.5 miles long and it is classified as a class IV-V section by American Whitewater. The scenic beauty of Alaska and the cool fresh water have people coming here. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this area has a large number of paddling spots. There are no other stretches to paddle along Power Creek than the Feeding Eyak Lake Close to Cordova stretch. The Chugach Mountains scenery is wonderful. Getting
some good exercise and just being out on the river for a while are great attractions for lots of people. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so if you're not from around here don't forget that
many of the rivers here are not very forgiving. This section is quite short so you'll have to walk back to the start over and over. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination.

most; July on the other hand is the driest. Don't leave Power Creek without first paying a visit to Ohman Falls; on a splendid day you can take a hike along the Eyak Trail. Summer brings highs in the 60's to Power Creek, and the overnight is slightly colder of course, regularly
in the 40's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 30's, and all through the dark hours in the winter at Power Creek temperatures fall to the 10's.
