Could anyone there furnish the complete length of the Sheep River? Thank you. Says Larry L. Miller

Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Alaska tend to be more challenging than the national average, so if you're not from around here don't forget that quite a few of the sections here are not easy. The Close to Glacier to Talkeetna River section of Sheep River in Matanuska-Susitna Borough is 50 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class IV(V+) section. The Close to Glacier to Talkeetna River section is the only
paddling section along Sheep River. Getting a good workout and just being out on the river for a while are great attractions for lots of people. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but do book a room before you come
because it is a very popular destination. Now this is a pretty long section, perfect for a real wilderness adventure. Whitewater paddling here in the Talkeetna Mountains is a great experience. The nature scenery of Alaska and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream are reasons enough to come here and paddle. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way in this general area you won't find many other paddling places.
