This stretch of Stikine River in Wrangell-Petersburg Census Area Borough is 60 miles long and it is classified as a class V+ section by American Whitewater. Great exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors have a lot of people coming here. When you're paddling down a Chugach Mountains river like this one you always get great scenery along the way too. If you're
    a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. A section like this is is of course not run in a single day, perfect for a real wilderness adventure. The Cassiar Highway Bridge to Telegraph Creek stretch is the only paddling stretch along Stikine River. The beautiful
scenery of Wrangell-Petersburg Census Area Borough and the playfulness of the water will make you feel great. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination.

Briefly about the general area:
At Stikine River through the months of summer highs are in the 60's. When the night sets in temperatures plunge down into the 40's. Daytime highs during the winter are in the 30's, and winter nights come with lows in the 20's to Stikine River. Stikine
 
River is a reasonably wet place usually with a good deal of precipitation; during October this area sees the most rain, and June is the month with the least moisture.
There is a glorious hiking trail near Stikine River called the Highbush Lake Trail.
