  If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside Alaska you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so keep in mind that a large number of rivers in this state are not easy. This stretch of Tatshenshini River is 136 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class III section of whitewater. The scenic beauty of Yukon/BC/Yakutat Borough and the cool fresh water have people coming here. The campgrounds here at
    Tatshenshini River are pretty good. There arenít any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but if you donít have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. A bit of
exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great reasons to come. This is the only paddling stretch along Tatshenshini River.

Briefly about the general area:
Here at Tatshenshini River there are plenty of folks from Yakutat, and if you want to hit the beach, Logan Beach is around here. Much rain falls at Tatshenshini River. October is the wettest month with most rain, and June on the other hand is the driest. During the
summertime at Tatshenshini River highs are commonly in the 50's, and the night is quite cooler of course, usually in the 40's. All through the winter highs are in the 30's; through the dark hours in the winter at Tatshenshini River temperatures drop to the 10's.
