The scenic beauty of Valdez-Cordova Census Area Borough and the playfulness of the water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. There are no other stretches to paddle along Tazlina River than the Tazlina Lake to Copper River stretch. A stretch this long is of course too much for a one day trip, so it looks like you will be camping out. The sections for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Alaska are often     more challenging than in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that lots of rivers here are not for beginners. Getting a good workout and just hanging out with mother nature are sure to keep you coming back for more. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this area has a pretty small number of paddling spots. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. Tazlina River is mostly a pretty arid place; the month of July is the wettest with most of the rain while April is usually the driest month. High temperatures at Tazlina River during the months of summer are in the 70's. Once the sun is down it sinks down to the 40's.
