you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. This stretch of Tiekel River in Alaska is 16 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class V+ section. The wild scenery of the Chugach Mountains is great. The Stuart Creek at Richardson Highway to Copper River section
is one of a few paddling sections in this river system. If you have the time you can make this a two day trip, so go ahead and pack your sleeping bag. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, there are lots of good places for that around here. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination.
