Tsina Glacier to Tsina Lodge on Richardson Highway section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.
CLASS III+ 12 miles
The beautiful scenery of Alaska and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream will make you feel great. There are some good stretches to paddle in this river system, the Tsina Glacier to Tsina Lodge on Richardson Highway stretch is one of them. The average whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master in this state than those in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that many of the sections here are not safe for beginners. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way there
are lots of good spots for that around here. The Tsina Glacier to Tsina Lodge on Richardson Highway section of Tsina River is 12 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class III+ section of whitewater. A bit of exercise and spending some quality time in nature are
sure to keep you coming back for more. You can enjoy this stretch more if you take your time, so pack your sleeping bag. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. The river winds through the Chugach Mountains and you get great scenery. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination.
