The Chugach Mountains scenery is wonderful. The Tsina Glacier to Tsina Lodge on Richardson Highway section of Tsina River in Alaska is 12 miles long and it is classified as a class III+ section by American Whitewater. The nature scenery of Alaska and the water flowing gracefully down Tsina River are in themselves reasons enough to     come here to paddle. There are a few other sections in this river system that can be paddled as well. This section has enough mileage for an overnight trip, so go ahead and pack your camp stove. The campgrounds here at Tsina River are pretty good. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a large number of paddling spots. A bit of exercise and spending some quality time in nature have a lot of people coming here. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. Briefly about the general area: Tsina River sees pretty high levels of precipitation; September is the wettest month with most rain, and the driest of the months is June. During the summer at Tsina River temperatures are generally in the 60's.   When the night sets in temperatures drop down into the 40's. Daytime highs through the wintertime are in the 20's, and night lows during the wintertime for Tsina River tend to be in the 10's.
