The wonderful Alaska scenery and the water flowing gracefully down Willow Creek will make you feel great. The starting location is a short drive from Anchorage, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem and if you make reservations in advance you're all     set. This is one of a small number of paddling sections in this river system, there are a few others too. If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more demanding, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that a lot of the rivers here are not suitable for beginners. Great exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors will have you coming back for more. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. This section is long enough to enjoy a good non stop paddle, it's perfect for a one day trip. Briefly about the general area: Throughout the months of summer, highs ordinarily are in the 60's at Willow Creek. When the night sets in temperatures descend down into the 40's. For the period of the winter this place gets highs in the 10's; night lows at Willow   Creek during the wintertime ordinarily plunge into the 0's. Willow Creek gets a common amount of yearly precipitation; August is when you get the most rain here, and the driest month of the year is January.
