The Below Wildcat Point section of Black River - & East Fork is 90 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class IV-V section. A stretch of this length does require some preparations, so make sure you pack enough food along with your camping gear. This is the only paddling section along Black River - & East Fork. If you're a camper     you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. Great exercise and just hanging out with mother nature have people coming from far and near. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. When you're paddling down a Mogollon Rim Mountains river like this one you always get great scenery along the way too. The nature scenery of Arizona and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. Briefly about the general area: Black River - & East Fork is pretty dry typically; August is the month that gets the most rain, and the driest month is May. During the warmest time of the year, highs regularly are in the 80's at Black River - & East Fork with overnight lows in the 50's.
