Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Arizona are harder than the national norm, so don't forget that many of the rivers here are not very forgiving. Now this is a pretty long section, so make sure you pack enough food along with your camping gear. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. During the wintertime highs are usually in the 40's with temperatures at Chevelon Creek dipping down into the 10's all through winter nights. Chevelon Creek is pretty dehydrated frequently; the month of July is the wettest with most of the rain, and June is the month with the least moisture.
