The beautiful scenery of Arizona and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. The Lees Ferry to Lake Mead section of Colorado River in Coconino/ Mohave County is 230 miles long and it is classified as a class I-V section by American Whitewater. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. Getting a good workout and just hanging out with mother nature have
people coming from far and near. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often tougher than in other states, so keep in mind that many of the sections here are not safe for beginners. The Lees Ferry to Lake Mead section is the only paddling section along
Colorado River.
Briefly about the general area: All through the summertime months at Colorado River highs are regularly in the 90's. Through the dark hours of summer temperatures dip down into the 50's. All through the wintertime highs are frequently in the 40's, and after the sun is down all through the wintertime temperatures at Colorado River sink into the 20's. Hundred and Forty Mile Canyon is a perfect place to stop by close by, and some out of the ordinary geology is available here, Keyhole Natural Bridge is right here. Don't leave
Colorado River without first paying a visit to Fishtail Rapids. Colorado River is pretty dried up regularly; the wettest month of the year is usually August, that's the one that rains the most while June is frequently the driest month.
