The average whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master in this state than those in other states, so you'd better keep in mind that rivers here are less forgiving. A bit of exercise and spending some quality time in nature are great reasons to come. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from

River is 34 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class V+ section of whitewater. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. The river winds through the Mogollon Rim Mountains and you get great scenery. There are no other sections to paddle along East Verde River than the US Route 87 to Verde River confluence section.
Briefly about the general area: Around East Verde River you don’t get a lot of rain; most of the rain falls through August while May is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Just can't
get enough of the Mogollon Rim Mountains. Put some time aside to spend at Walnut Spring while you're here at East Verde River. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 100's to East Verde River. For the duration of the moonlight hours it's typically in the 60's. Throughout
the winter this place gets highs in the 50's; night lows at East Verde River all through the wintertime usually descend into the 20's. It's always magnificent to go to South Walnut Spring, and obviously, A journey to Dead Cow Canyon is always fun.
