This stretch has enough mileage for an overnight trip, so why not pack your sleeping bag too. The average Arizona whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master than those in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that a lot of     the rivers here are not suitable for beginners. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. Briefly about the general area: A short visit to Box Spring is always worthwhile, and Sunset Crater Volcano National Monument is a delightful place nearby. Little Colorado River gets very little rainfall; the month with most of the rain is August while June is the month with the least amount of precipitation. At Little Colorado River during the summertime months highs are in the 90's; through summer nights temperatures are in the 60's.
