The natural beauty of Coconino County and the cool fresh water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. Getting your paddling muscles activated and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great reasons to come. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but you'd better reserve in advance because     these hotels fill up quick. The Below Grand Falls to above Black Falls section is the only paddling section along Little Colorado River. This stretch has enough mileage for an overnight trip, so why not pack your camp stove too. Briefly about the general area: Don't leave Little Colorado River without first paying a visit to Box Spring; a spree to Sunset Crater Volcano National Monument is recommended. For the period of the summer at Little Colorado River highs are generally in the 90's. Through the dark hours of summer temperatures fall down into the 60's. Daytime highs through the wintertime are in the 40's with winter lows in the 20's overnight here at Little Colorado River.
