The beautiful scenery of Arizona and the water flowing gracefully down San Francisco River are reasons enough to come here and paddle. The average Arizona whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master than those in other states, so better not forget that many runs in this state are not easy. A bit of exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors are sure to keep you coming back for more. San Francisco Mountains is a great plus for this river. Now this is a pretty long section, perfect for a real wilderness adventure. The campgrounds here at San Francisco River are pretty good. This river system has a few good paddling stretches and the Alma to Clifton section is
| one of them. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way there are not so many other good spots for that around here.
Briefly about the general area:
Don't leave San Francisco River without first paying a visit to Hickey Spring, and if you want a little side tour, try Bull Canyon.
