Arizona whitewater - San Francisco River, San Francisco Mountains, Greenlee County
Greenlee
county,
Alma to Clifton section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.
The beautiful scenery of Arizona and the water flowing gracefully down San Francisco River are reasons enough to come here and paddle. The average Arizona whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master than those in other states, so better not forget that many runs in this state are not easy. A bit of exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors are sure to keep you coming back for more. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. The beauty of the
San Francisco Mountains is a great plus for this river. Now this is a pretty long section, perfect for a real wilderness adventure. The campgrounds here at San Francisco River are pretty good. This river system has a few good paddling stretches and the Alma to Clifton section is
one of them. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way there are not so many other good spots for that around here.
