Arizona whitewater - Verde River, Yavapai County Yavapai county, Beasley Flat to Gap Creek section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.   CLASS II-IV     7 miles   The Beasley Flat to Gap Creek stretch of Verde River in Yavapai County is 7 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class II-IV section. The beautiful scenery of Yavapai County and the cool fresh water have people coming here. There are so many stretches to paddle in this river system, the Beasley Flat to Gap Creek stretch is just one of many. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Arizona tend to be more challenging than the national average, so keep in mind that quite a few of the sections here are not easy. There are campgrounds quite     near the river where you can camp. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. Getting a good workout and just being out on the river for a while have a lot of people coming here. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you'll find a large number of good rivers. This is a pretty decent length section, it's good length for a morning trip. Briefly about the general area: Summer brings highs in the 100's to Verde River. For the period of the moonlight hours it's frequently in the 60's. For the period of the winter highs are in the 50's; night lows through the winter for Verde River tend to be in the 20's. Don't leave Verde River without first going for a hike along the Cold Water Trail It's always tremendous to stop by White Flash   Rapid. There's wonderful hiking along the Towel Creek Trail, and don't leave Verde River without first paying a visit to Wet Prong Spring. Around Verde River you don’t get a lot of precipitation; of all the months in a year August is the one with the most rain, and May on the other hand is the driest. If you come to this river you will have a good time for sure. Gospel Hollow is a splendid spot to explore close to Verde River.
