CLASS I-III 25 miles
This stretch of Verde River is 25 miles long and is a class I-III section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The wonderful Arizona scenery and the cool fresh water attract people from near and far. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so keep in mind that many of the sections here are not safe for beginners. There's camping available near Verde River. If you hurry you can run this stretch in a day but why not make it an overnighter, so pack your camping
stuff. The wild scenery of the Mogollon Rim Mountains is great. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are lots of good places for that around here. This is not the only paddling section in this river system, there are others too. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll
have to drive a bit to get to one, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. A good workout and just hanging out with mother nature are sure to keep you coming back for more.
