CLASS I-III 25 miles
This section of Verde River in Arizona is 25 miles long and is a class I-III section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Arizona is often more difficult than elsewhere, so keep in mind that many of the rivers here are not very forgiving. There's camping available near Verde River. A bit of exercise and just being out on the river for a while have people coming from far and near. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this is an area with plenty of spots for that. The wild scenery
of the Mogollon Rim Mountains is great. The nature scenery of Arizona and the playfulness of the water beats anything. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular
destination. This is not the only paddling section in this river system, there are others too. If you have the time you can make this a two day trip, so why not pack your camping stuff too.
Briefly about the general area: Have a great hiking adventure along the Verde River Trail Number Eleven; you have to definitely pop by Mule Shoe Bend during your stay. At Verde River you don’t see much precipitation; most of the rain falls through August, and May meanwhile is the driest month. This is a really good river. The warmest time of the year
at Verde River arrives with high temperatures in the 100's. Throughout the dark hours of summer temperatures descend down into the 60's. During the winter the highs are regularly in the 50's while the cold winter nights at Verde River are in the 20's. Be careful coming to the Mogollon
Rim Mountains, you might not ever want to return home again. A visit to Red Creek Rapids will fill your soul with wonderful feelings, and if you're here you can take a hike along the Table Mountain Trail.
