The average Arkansas whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit easier to master than those in other states, so keep in mind that the rivers in this state are less demanding. The natural beauty of Arkansas and the cool fresh water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but do book a     room before you come because it is a very popular destination. The Romance to Lake Barnett section is the only paddling section along Bayou Des Arc River. This section of Bayou Des Arc River in White County is 7 miles long and has been rated as a class II section by American Whitewater. Great exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors have people coming from far and near. This section is long enough to enjoy a good non stop paddle, suitable for an afternoon trip. Whitewater paddling here in the Boston Mountains is a great experience. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you'll find a large number of good spots.
