The put-in is not too far from Hot Springs, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. The beautiful scenery of Arkansas and the cool fresh water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. This is a pretty decent length section, you can easily run it on an afternoon. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside Arkansas you might find the rivers here a bit more manageable, so you'd better keep in mind that quite a few of the sections here are pretty easy. There are campgrounds quite near the river
where you can camp. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way in this general area you won't find many other paddling places. Bear Creek South Fourche Tributary doesn't have a lot of paddling stretches, the NFR 45 to NFR 86 stretch
is the only one. Getting your paddling muscles activated and a chance to spend some time outdoors have people coming from far and near. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. The wild scenery of the Ouachita Mountains is great.
