The Low water bridge to Old Iron Bridge section of Big Creek in Cleburne County is 15 miles long and is a class I section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. If you're coming from Searcy it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. The natural beauty of Cleburne County and the water flowing gracefully down Big Creek are reasons enough to come here and paddle. This section is long enough for an overnight trip if you take your time, so pack your sleeping
bag. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this area has a pretty small number of paddling places. The Boston Mountains scenery is wonderful. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit
to get to one, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. Getting your paddling muscles activated and a chance to spend some time outdoors have people coming from far and near. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state is often easier than elsewhere, so don't forget that a large number of rivers in this state are quite easy. The Low water bridge to Old Iron Bridge section is the only paddling section along Big Creek.
