The Hill Cemetery to Richland Creek Campground stretch of Big Devil's Fork in Newton County is 4.75 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class III-IV(V) section of whitewater. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but if you don’t have reservations
you might end up sleeping in your car. The Hill Cemetery to Richland Creek Campground stretch is the only paddling stretch along Big Devil's Fork. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this area has a large number of paddling rivers. Getting
a good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors will have you coming back for more. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more forgiving, so don't forget that rivers here are less demanding. The campgrounds here at Big Devil's Fork are pretty good. This stretch has has enough mileage, you can easily run it on an afternoon. When you're paddling down a Boston Mountains river like this one you always get great scenery along the way too.
