The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Harrison, as you can see on the road map further down. The beauty of the Boston Mountains is a great plus for this river. This stretch of Big Piney Creek in Arkansas is 10 miles long and has been rated as a class II+ section by American Whitewater. There are plenty of other stretches in this river system that can be paddled as well. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Arkansas is often easier     than elsewhere, so better not forget that a lot of the rivers here are suitable for beginners. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way there are lots of good rivers for that around here. There's camping available near Big Piney Creek. If you have the time you can make this a two day trip, so pack your camp stove. A bit of exercise and just being out on the river for a while have a lot of people coming here. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem and if you make reservations in advance you're all set.
