The Highway 12to Helton's Farm stretch of Big Piney Creek in Arkansas is 10 miles long and is a class II+ section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Harrison, as you can see on the road map further down. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just hanging out with mother nature will make you glad you     came. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking in this general area you'll find lots of paddling places. This section is long enough for an overnight trip if you take your time, so go ahead and pack your sleeping bag. The beautiful scenery of Arkansas and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. There are plenty of other stretches in this river system that can be paddled as well. The beautiful Boston Mountains scenery is an added bonus. The winter brings highs down to the 40's, and overnight lows in the 20's for Big Piney Creek.
