The NFR 1601 to NFR 1614 section of Big Shoal Creek in Arkansas is 7 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class III-IV section of whitewater. The campgrounds here at Big Shoal Creek are pretty good. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't
    matter, this area has a large number of paddling places. The scenic beauty of Arkansas and the cool fresh water beats anything. This section is long enough to enjoy a good non stop paddle, good for a one day paddling trip. Great exercise and spending some quality time in nature
will make you glad you came. This is the only paddling stretch along Big Shoal Creek.

All through the summertime here at Big Shoal Creek, high temperatures mostly reach the 90's, and all through the night it cools down to the 60's. For the period of the wintertime the highs are regularly in the 40's while Big Shoal Creek overnight low temperatures through the winter are in the 20's.
Ben Cove is a splendid place to spend some time at.
