The beautiful scenery of -blank- County and the water flowing gracefully down Big Shoal Creek will make you feel great. The starting location is a short drive from Russellville, as you can see on the road map further down. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this is an area with plenty of spots for that. There's camping available near Big Shoal Creek. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away     from the river if you want to stay the night, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. Big Shoal Creek doesn't have a lot of paddling stretches, the NFR 1601 to NFR 1614 stretch is the only one. Great exercise and just hanging out with mother nature have people coming from far and near. This section is long enough to enjoy a good non stop paddle, you can easily run it on an afternoon. Briefly about the general area: Throughout the summertime months at Big Shoal Creek highs are usually in the 90's. Through the moonlight hours it's regularly in the 60's. All through the winter highs are in the 40's with winter lows in the 20's overnight here at Big Shoal Creek. Big Shoal Creek is a good site of typical rainfall; throughout the month of May you get the most rain around here, and January is the month with the least moisture.
