This stretch of Blackburn Creek is 8 miles long and has been rated as a class II-III section by American Whitewater. On this section you do get some distance, suitable for an afternoon trip. The scenic beauty of Crawford County and the cool fresh water attract people from near and far. There are no other stretches to paddle along Blackburn Creek than the Devils Den State Park to Highway 220 stretch. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking in this general area you'll find lots of paddling spots. Getting a good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great attractions for lots of people. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. The Boston Mountains scenery is wonderful.
