The starting point is not too far from Fayetteville-Springdale-Rogers, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. The nature scenery of Arkansas and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water attract people from near and far. The Devils Den State Park to Highway 220 section of Blackburn Creek is 8 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class II-III section. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Arkansas are often easier than in other states, so don't forget that a large number of rivers in this state
are quite easy. The Boston Mountains scenery is wonderful. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just being out on the river for a while will have you coming back for more. Blackburn Creek doesn't have a lot of paddling stretches, the Devils Den State Park to Highway 220
stretch is the only one. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way around here you'll find a large number of good places. On this section you do get some distance, it's good length for a morning trip. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground.

hiking at its best. Blackburn Creek sees pretty high levels of rainfall; May is when you get the most rain here, and January is the month with the least moisture. Summer at Blackburn Creek comes with high temperatures in the 90's, and the overnight is slightly chillier of course, frequently in the 60's. The winter comes with highs in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Blackburn Creek are in the 20's.
