A good workout and spending some quality time in nature are great reasons to come. This stretch is mid length, it's good length for a morning trip. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often easier than in other states, so better not forget that lots of rivers here are good for beginners. This stretch of Blocker Creek in Pike County is 9 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class III+ section of whitewater. The beauty     of the Ouachita Mountains is a great plus for this river. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this area has a large number of paddling spots. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. The Along Highway 369 to Little Missouri below Highway 84 stretch is the only paddling stretch along Blocker Creek. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. Briefly about the general area: A great deal of rain falls at Blocker Creek; of all the months in a year May is the one with the most rain, and the driest month of the year is January. For the period of the summertime months highs here at Blocker Creek get into the 90's, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. All through   the wintertime the highs are ordinarily in the 50's, and throughout the dark hours in the wintertime at Blocker Creek temperatures plunge to the 20's.
