The wonderful Newton County scenery and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream attract people from near and far. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Arkansas are easier than the national norm, so better not forget that many of the rivers here are not very demanding. The put-in is not too far from Harrison, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just hanging out with mother nature have people coming from far and near. There's camping available near Boss Hollow.
This is a somewhat short section so you'll have to walk back to the start over and over. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. No matter if you're
whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a large number of paddling rivers. The Boston Mountains scenery is wonderful. This is the only paddling stretch along Boss Hollow. The Headwaters to Hurricane Creek stretch of Boss Hollow in Newton County is 3.8 miles long and has been rated as a class III-IV+ section by American Whitewater.
Briefly about the general area: Boss Hollow typically gets a lot of rainfall; most of the rain falls through May while January is frequently the driest month. If the weather is wonderful here at Boss Hollow, you
can go for a hike along the Hurricane Trail, and Boss Hollow is another great place to go to nearby. Yep, outdoors cool things truly is bountiful here in the Boston Mountains. On a nice day at Boss Hollow you can take a hike along the Cherry Ridge Trail. For the duration of
