This stretch of Boulder Creek in Arkansas is 2.6 miles long and is a class IV-V+ section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. If you're coming from Harrison it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. The natural beauty of Newton County and the playfulness of the water have people coming here. A bit of exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great attractions for lots of people. Whitewater paddling here in the Boston Mountains is a great
experience. The sections for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Arkansas are often more forgiving than in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that a large number of rivers in this state are quite easy. This is a bit of a short stretch so better bring some
good walking shoes. Boulder Creek doesn't have a lot of paddling stretches, the Headwaters to Henson Creek stretch is the only one. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, around here you'll find a large number of good rivers. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp.
