This stretch of Broadwater Hollow in Newton County is 0.25 miles long and it is classified as a class III-IV(V) section by American Whitewater. The starting location is a reasonable drive from Harrison, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. This is a very short stretch so it's not like you're gonna spend hours on the river in one stretch. A good workout and spending some quality time in nature are great reasons to come. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Arkansas is often easier than elsewhere, so if you're not from
around here don't forget that lots of rivers here are good for beginners. The beautiful scenery of Newton County and the water flowing gracefully down Broadwater Hollow are reasons enough to come here and paddle. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting
or kayaking, either way this is an area with plenty of places for that. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. The beautiful Boston Mountains scenery is an added bonus. There are no other stretches to paddle along Broadwater Hollow than the Park Boundary to Cecil Creek stretch. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby.
Briefly about the general area: The warmest time of the year at Broadwater Hollow comes with high temperatures in
the 80's. Throughout the moonlight hours it's regularly in the 60's. During the winter highs are in the 40's with temperatures at Broadwater Hollow dipping down into the 20's during winter nights. If you're here, you might as well stop by Broadwater Hollow; Queen Point is very
near and is a nice location to stop at. Broadwater Hollow gets a good deal of water; the month of May is the wettest with most of the rain while January is the month with the least amount of precipitation. If you want a nice time in the great outdoors just come on up to the Boston Mountains.
