Brushy Creek doesn't have a lot of paddling sections, the Polk County 408 to Cossatot at Highway 246 section is the only one. The beautiful Ouachita Mountains scenery is an added bonus. The natural beauty of Polk County and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream make the trip here worthwhile. The Polk County 408 to Cossatot     at Highway 246 section of Brushy Creek in Polk County is 6.2 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class II+(III) section of whitewater. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. This is a pretty decent length section, it's perfect for a one day trip. Getting some good exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great attractions for lots of people. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this area has a large number of paddling rivers. Briefly about the general area: During the summer at Brushy Creek highs are frequently in the 80's, and the nighttime is a bit cooler of course, ordinarily   in the 60's. Daytime highs throughout the wintertime are in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Brushy Creek are in the 20's. Brushy Creek gets a lot of water; May is when you get the most rain here; January is the month with the least moisture.
