The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Arkansas are often easier than in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that a lot of the rivers here are suitable for beginners. The Boxley to Ponca section of Buffalo River in Newton County is 6.1 miles long and has been rated as a class II section by American Whitewater. The Boston Mountains scenery is wonderful. here at Buffalo River are pretty good. The natural beauty of Arkansas and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream beats anything. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, and if you make reservations in advance
you're all set. This is not the only paddling section in this river system, there are others too. On this section you do get some distance, you can easily run it on an afternoon. Getting a good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors have a lot of people coming here. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you'll find a large number of good places.

the 90's, and throughout the night it cools down to the 60's. High temperatures through the winter are normally in the 40's; nighttime lows in the 20's for Buffalo River.
