The beautiful scenery of Arkansas and the playfulness of the water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. The put-in is not too far from Harrison, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. Getting a good workout and just being out on the river for a while have people coming from far and     near. The wild scenery of the Boston Mountains is great. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often easier than in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that the rivers in this state are less demanding. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this area has a large number of paddling spots. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. There are plenty of other stretches in this river system that can be paddled as well. This is a pretty decent length section, good for a one day paddling trip. Briefly about the general area: Stillhouse Hollow is a great site to spend some time at, and some interesting geology is available here, Chimney   Rock Bluff is right here. These mountains rock, just look at all the cool stuff to do in the Boston Mountains. Buffalo River is a wet location that gets much rain; during the month of May you get the most rain around here, and January is when it's the driest. Summer at Buffalo River arrives with high temperatures in the 80's with overnight lows in the 60's. Daytime highs during the wintertime are in the 40's, and nighttime lows in the 20's for Buffalo River.
