The scenic beauty of Arkansas and the water flowing gracefully down Buffalo River are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state is often easier than elsewhere, so if you're not from around here don't forget that many runs in this state are very easy. The Carver to Woolum section of Buffalo River is 15.3 miles long and it is classified as a class I-II section by American Whitewater. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just hanging out with mother nature are great attractions for lots of people.
For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way around here you'll find a large number of good spots. If you're coming from Harrison it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location,
as you can see on the road map further down. The river winds through the Boston Mountains and you get great scenery. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. This section is long enough for an overnight trip if you take your time, so go ahead and pack your sleeping bag. This is not the only paddling stretch in this river system, there are others too.
