This section of Buffalo River in Searcy County is 5.6 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class I-II section of whitewater. The starting point is not too far from Harrison, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. The Tyler Bend to Gilbert section is one of many paddling sections in this river system. A good workout
and spending some quality time in nature will make you glad you came. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. The wonderful Searcy County scenery and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water beats
anything. This section is long enough to enjoy a good non stop paddle, you can easily run it on an afternoon. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking in this general area you'll find lots of paddling rivers. The campgrounds here at Buffalo River are pretty good. Whitewater paddling here in the Boston Mountains is a great experience.

Summertime brings highs in the 90's to Buffalo River. When the night sets in temperatures descend down into the 60's. For the duration of the winter highs are frequently in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Buffalo River are in the 20's. So many fun things to do here in
the Boston Mountains, too tremendous to be true. Goodhue Hollow is a splendid location to take a look at near Buffalo River, and if you're addicted to cool geologic traits try Tyler Bend. Buffalo River is a quite wet place commonly with a lot of rainfall; May is the month that gets the most rain while January is generally the driest month.
