CLASS I-II 10.9 miles
This stretch of Buffalo River in Searcy County is 10.9 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class I-II section of whitewater. The sections for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Arkansas are often more forgiving than in other states, so better not forget that many of the rivers here are not very demanding. There are plenty of other sections in this river system that can be paddled as well. Getting some good exercise and just being out on the river for a while will make you glad you came. For all you camping people there are campgrounds
nearby. This section is long enough for an overnight trip if you take your time, so why not pack your camping stuff too. When you're paddling down a Boston Mountains river like this one you always get great scenery along the way too. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river,
but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. The natural beauty of Arkansas and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream are reasons enough to come here and paddle. The put-in location is a short drive from Mountain Home, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, around here you'll find a large number of good rivers.
