The nature scenery of Marion County and the cool fresh water have people coming here. The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Mountain Home, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. On this section you do get some distance, suitable for an afternoon trip. The Buffalo Point to Rush Landing stretch of Buffalo River is 7.5 miles long and is a class I-II section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a
bit to get to one, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. This river system is full of great paddling sections, the Buffalo Point to Rush Landing section is just one of them. The average Arkansas whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be
easier to run than those in other states, so if you're not from around here don't forget that lots of rivers here are good for beginners. The wild scenery of the Boston Mountains is great. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way there are lots of good rivers for that around here. Getting your paddling muscles activated and spending some quality time in nature have a lot of people coming here.

temperatures at Buffalo River throughout the days of summer are in the 90's while overnight lows are regularly in the 60's. The winter brings highs down to the 40's, and through the dark hours in the winter at Buffalo River temperatures descend to the 20's. Buffalo River is
a wet site that gets a great deal of precipitation; of all the months in a year May is the one with the most rain, and January on the other hand is the driest.
