The scenic beauty of Arkansas and the water flowing gracefully down Buffalo River make the trip here worthwhile. The put-in is not too far from Mountain Home, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. If you hurry you can run this section in a day but why not make it an overnighter, so go ahead and pack your sleeping bag. The average Arkansas whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be easier to run than those in other states, so keep in mind that a large number of rivers in this state are quite easy. long and is a class I(II) section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this is an area with plenty of places for that. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. The wild scenery of the Boston Mountains is great. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick.
