Petit Jean St. Park section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.
CLASS II-IV(V+) 3.5 miles
The Petit Jean St. Park stretch of Cedar Creek in Conway County is 3.5 miles long and is a class II-IV(V+) section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more forgiving, so if you're not from around here don't forget that rivers here are not as hard as elsewhere. There are no other stretches to paddle along Cedar Creek than the Petit Jean St. Park stretch. This is a pretty short section so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in
a few times. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. The beautiful scenery of Arkansas and the playfulness of the
water attract people from near and far. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this is an area with plenty of rivers for that. Getting your paddling muscles activated and spending some quality time in nature will make you glad you came. The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Russellville, as you can see on the road map further down.
