This stretch of Cedar Creek in Crawford County is 7.7 miles long and has been rated as a class II section by American Whitewater. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Arkansas is often easier than elsewhere, so if you're not from around here don't forget that a lot of the rivers in this state are suitable for beginners. This section is long enough to enjoy a good non stop paddle, suitable for an afternoon trip. is a reasonable drive from Fort Smith, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. A good workout and just being out on the river for a while have people coming from far and near.

about the general area: Here at Cedar Creek there are plenty of folks from Cedarville; when you're here it's always fun to stop by Lake Fort Smith State Park. All year is a magnificent time in the Boston Mountains if
you adore the outdoors. It's always glorious to pop by Oliver Springs; if you're here you can take a hike along the Butterfield Hiking Trail.
