CLASS II-III 6 miles
This stretch of water is challenging. A lot of rapdids coming one after the other insures no boredom. We put in at Chester and rode it into Frog Bayou with the level at 2.9 We can hardly wait to see what it's like 3.5! Says Beth grimwood
Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Arkansas tend to be more forgiving than the national average, so if you're not from around here don't forget that many of the rivers here are not very demanding. The nature scenery of Crawford County and the playfulness of the water attract people from near and far. The
Chester to Mountainburg section of Clear Creek in Arkansas is 6 miles long and it is classified as a class II-III section by American Whitewater. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. Getting your
paddling muscles activated and just being out on the river for a while are great reasons to come. Clear Creek doesn't have a lot of paddling sections, the Chester to Mountainburg section is the only one. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby.
