The County Road 31 to Highway 246 stretch of Cossatot River in Arkansas is 3.4 miles long and is a class II+ section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The wonderful Arkansas scenery and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream are reasons enough to come here and paddle. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Arkansas are often easier than in other states, so don't forget that many of the rivers here are not very demanding. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but you'd better reserve in advance
because these hotels fill up quick. Whitewater paddling here in the Ouachita Mountains is a great experience. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. This is a somewhat short section so it's not like you're gonna spend hours on the river in one stretch. There are plenty of
other sections in this river system that can be paddled as well. A bit of exercise and spending some quality time in nature are great reasons to come. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, around here you'll find a large number of good places.
