The natural beauty of Arkansas and the playfulness of the water make the trip here worthwhile. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way there are lots of good places for that around here. This is not the only paddling section in this river system, there are others too. When you're paddling down a Ouachita Mountains river like this one     you always get great scenery along the way too. The campgrounds here at Cossatot River are pretty good. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Arkansas is often easier than elsewhere, so you'd better keep in mind that many of the sections here are safe for beginners. A good workout and just being out on the river for a while will have you coming back for more. This is a bit of a short stretch so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times.
