This stretch of Cossatot River is 9 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class I-II section. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside Arkansas you might find the rivers here a bit more manageable, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that rivers here are less demanding. Whether     you're whitewater rafting or kayaking in this general area you'll find lots of paddling spots. There's camping available near Cossatot River. There are so many sections to paddle in this river system, the Gilliam Lake to County Road 70 section is just one of many. Great exercise and spending some quality time in nature have people coming from far and near. The beauty of the Ouachita Mountains is a great plus for this river.
