The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Mountain Home, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. A stretch of this length does require some preparations, perfect for a real wilderness adventure. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, around here you'll find a large number of good spots. The beautiful scenery of Boone/ Marion County and the     playfulness of the water beats anything. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state is often easier than elsewhere, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that many runs in this state are very easy. The Harman to Highway 101 stretch is the only paddling stretch along Crooked Creek. Great exercise and just hanging out with mother nature will have you coming back for more. Whitewater paddling here in the Ozarks is a great experience. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. Briefly about the general area: Throughout the summertime at Crooked Creek temperatures are frequently in the 90's with overnight lows in the 60's. The winter   brings highs down to the 40's with temperatures at Crooked Creek dipping down into the 20's through winter nights. Crooked Creek is a wet location that gets a lot of rain; all through May this area sees the most rain, and January on the other hand is the driest. You must absolutely take a look at Standing Rock since you're here at Crooked Creek.
