The NFR 43 to Little Missouri section of Crooked Creek is 3 miles long and it is classified as a class III-IV section by American Whitewater. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state is often easier than elsewhere, so you'd better keep in mind that a lot of the rivers here are suitable for beginners. This is a short paddling stretch so you'll have to walk back to the start over and over. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away     from the river if you want to stay the night, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. A bit of exercise and spending some quality time in nature will make you glad you came. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way there are lots of good spots for that around here. Crooked Creek doesn't have a lot of paddling sections, the NFR 43 to Little Missouri section is the only one. The Ouachita Mountains scenery is wonderful. Briefly about the general area: Nearby Mosquito Gap is a tremendous location to go if you're at Crooked Creek. During the warmest time of the year highs here at Crooked Creek reach the 90's, and during the night it cools down to the 60's. Daytime highs all through the winter are in   the 50's, and nighttime lows in the 20's for Crooked Creek. All the water falling down from the sky makes Crooked Creek a wet place; through May this area sees the most rain; January meanwhile is the driest month.
