This section of De Roche Creek in Arkansas is 5.5 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class II-III section. The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Arkadelphia, as you can see on the road map further down. The average whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit easier to master in this state than those in other states, so better not forget that many runs in this state are very easy. There are no other sections to paddle along De Roche Creek than the Highway 283 to Highway 67 section. Whitewater paddling
here in the Ouachita Mountains is a great experience. The scenic beauty of Hot Spring/Clark County and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. Getting some good exercise and just being out on the river
for a while are sure to keep you coming back for more. There are plenty of hotels here if you want to spend a night, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this is an area with not too many other spots for that. This stretch is mid length, suitable for an afternoon trip.
