The nature scenery of Hot Spring/Clark County and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream are reasons enough to come here and paddle. The put-in is not too far from Arkadelphia, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. The river winds through the Ouachita Mountains and you get great scenery. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either     way this is an area with not too many other places for that. There's camping available near De Roche Creek. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Arkansas are easier than the national norm, so better not forget that many runs in this state are very easy. There are no other stretches to paddle along De Roche Creek than the Highway 283 to Highway 67 stretch. Lodging is available near the river, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. This is a pretty decent length section, it's perfect for a one day trip. Getting a good workout and just hanging out with mother nature will have you coming back for more.
