The put-in is not too far from Fayetteville-Springdale-Rogers, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. The nature scenery of Washington / Crawford County and the playfulness of the water make the trip here worthwhile. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. This section of Fall Creek in Washington / Crawford County is 12 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class III section. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you
can camp. When you're paddling down a Boston Mountains river like this one you always get great scenery along the way too. Great exercise and just hanging out with mother nature have a lot of people coming here. If you have the time you can make this a two day trip, so go ahead
and pack your camping stuff. The Strickler to Lee Creek stretch is the only paddling stretch along Fall Creek. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more forgiving, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that quite a few of the sections here are pretty easy. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with plenty of rivers for that.
Briefly about the general area: There is a wonderful hiking trail near Fall Creek called the Butterfield Hiking Trail. At Fall
Creek through the warm days of summer highs are in the 90's, and through summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Fall Creek are in the 20's. Fall Creek is a wet place that gets a great deal of precipitation; May is the month that gets the most rain, and January is the month with the least moisture.
