The starting location is a short drive from Harrison, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. The natural beauty of Arkansas and the cool fresh water beats anything. A good workout and spending some quality time in nature have a lot of people coming here. This stretch of Falling Water Creek in Pope/Searcy County is 7 miles long and it is classified as a class II-IV section by American Whitewater. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Arkansas is often easier than elsewhere, so if you're not from around here don't forget
that many of the rivers here are not very demanding. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill
up quick. Falling Water Creek doesn't have a lot of paddling sections, the Falling Water Falls to Richland Campground section is the only one. This section is long enough to enjoy a good non stop paddle, good for a one day paddling trip. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with plenty of rivers for that. Whitewater paddling here in the Boston Mountains is a great experience.
Briefly about the general area: Falling Water Creek is a wet spot that gets a good deal of rainfall; of all the months in a year May is the one with
the most rain, and the driest month of the year is January. Pine Hollow is a great spot to explore; there is a brilliant hiking trail nearby called the Hideout Trail. For the period of the months of summer highs here at Falling Water Creek get into the 80's while nighttime
lows are commonly in the 60's. Highs throughout the wintertime are typically in the 40's with winter lows in the 20's overnight here at Falling Water Creek. So many amusing things in the Boston Mountains, just impressive.
