The scenic beauty of Arkansas and the water flowing gracefully down Falls Branch are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. This stretch of Falls Branch in Newton County is 9 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class III-V section. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Arkansas is often easier than elsewhere, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that lots of rivers here are good for beginners. Getting some good exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors will make you glad you came. This is the only paddling section
along Falls Branch. The starting location is a reasonable drive from Harrison, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this area has a large number of paddling
rivers. This is a pretty decent length section, suitable for an afternoon trip. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. The campgrounds here at Falls Branch are pretty good. The river winds through the Boston Mountains and you get great scenery.
