The average Arkansas whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be easier to run than those in other states, so if you're not from around here don't forget that rivers here are less demanding. Great exercise and spending some quality time in nature will have you coming back for more. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. This stretch of Fiddlers Creek is 5.5 miles     long and has been rated as a class II section by American Whitewater. Fiddlers Creek doesn't have a lot of paddling sections, the NFR 274 Access to Ouachita River Close to Sims section is the only one. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way around here you'll find a large number of good rivers. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. The Ouachita Mountains scenery is wonderful. On this section you do get some distance, it's perfect for a one day trip. Briefly about the general area: During the summer months, highs commonly are in the 90's at Fiddlers Creek. For the period of the dark hours of summer temperatures drop down into the 60's. High temperatures through the winter are normally in the 50's while the cold winter nights at Fiddlers Creek are   in the 20's. All the water falling down from the sky makes Fiddlers Creek a wet spot; most of the rain falls during May; the driest month of the year is January.
