The put-in location is a short drive from Russellville, as you can see on the road map further down. The natural beauty of Pope County and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Arkansas is often easier than elsewhere, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that rivers here are not as hard as elsewhere. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this is an area with plenty of places for that. This is the
only paddling stretch along Galla Creek. If you'll be staying in a hotel you're in luck, lodging is available very near the river, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. A bit of exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors are sure to
keep you coming back for more. This is a pretty short section so better bring some good walking shoes. The river winds through the Boston Mountains and you get great scenery. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. This section of Galla Creek in Arkansas is 3.15 miles long and is a class III-IV section of whitewater according to American Whitewater.

dip down into the 60's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 40's, and night lows at Galla Creek through the wintertime commonly drop into the 20's. All the water falling down from the sky makes Galla Creek a wet site; the month with most of the rain is May, and January meanwhile is the driest month.
