The put-in location is a short drive from Russellville, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. The beautiful scenery of Arkansas and the cool fresh water are in themselves reasons enough to come here     to paddle. This stretch is short so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times. The Headwaters to Big Piney Creek stretch of Graves Creek in Arkansas is 1.9 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class III+(IV) section. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this area has a large number of paddling rivers. The Headwaters to Big Piney Creek stretch is one of a few paddling stretches in this river system. Great exercise and just hanging out with mother nature are great attractions for lots of people. The beauty of the Boston Mountains is a great plus for this river. The nearby       hotels are a bit away from the river, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. Briefly about the general area: Felkins   Point is rather near Graves Creek, and going for a hike on the Grassy Point Trail is always a good adventure. That right there is heaps of fun things already but it goes on, the Boston Mountains has it all. Graves Creek is near Ozark National Forest which is a gorgeous spot; there are great locations to explore along the Silver Point Trail. The surroundings of this river have so much to offer.
